Dave Windass is a writer based in the city of Hull. His plays include On A Shout, Sully and Kicked Into Touch.

As a journalist, he was on the staff of the Hull Daily Mail for five years, worked as a theatre critic for The Stage and an arts correspondent for The Big Issue in the North. He has also worked for Emap, whatsonstage.com, The Scotsman, Artscene, numerous websites, several regional newspapers and as a copywriter for design agencies.

Sully and Kicked Into Touch both played to capacity audiences at Hull Truck Theatre. For Humber Mouth, Dave wrote and performed The Worst Seat in the House. He is currently working to commission for Hull Truck and, with the support of Arts Council England, developing a play based on the life of British film mogul J Arthur Rank. Recent work also includes the short film It's My Party.
